Held the first logistics conference entitled: NEW SOLUTIONS IN LOGISTICS AND FORWARDING
The first logistics conference, logistics and forwarding, organized by the "Banja Luka College", was held very successfully on June 19, 2015, with the theme of the perspective and development of logistics and logistics thought in the region.
The first professional conference of this kind was attended by more than 90 participants from the countries of the region, from forwarding companies, logistics centers, airports, post offices, railways, transport companies, educational institutions of all types, agencies and financial institutions,...
The conference was supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the Government of Republika Srpska. Radmila Kocić Ćućić, assistant to the Minister of Education and Culture in the RS Government, pointed out that this ministry supports all aspects of improving knowledge and the profession, and in this regard, BLC sets a special tone that this Ministry recognizes and gives full support to. On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce of the RS, Dragoslav Mihajlović welcomed the gathering and emphasized that the group that gathers this area in the Chamber of Commerce is also interested in improving knowledge and expanding cooperation, as well as legislative frameworks to the region and beyond.
Speaking about the importance of logistics today and in the future, Prof. Dr. Milorad Kilibarda pointed out the importance of logistics, its functionality and connectedness on a global level, from the smallest company to logistics in space. And all of that requires knowledge, lifelong training and the acquisition of new experiences based on practical examples from life.
Branka Bogosavljevic, manager from the company "Milšped" from Belgrade, pointed to a good example of this company, how a lot can be achieved in this area with thoughtful and dedicated work, although the field of coverage and possible activities in our region as well as in the wider region remained uncovered.
The other participants in the presentations and discussions also pointed out that this area is insufficiently staffed and pointed to the need for higher education of quality professionals for all kinds of needs in the field of logistics and forwarding.
It was emphasized at this Conference that such gatherings contribute to the education of already employed experts, but also the need to constantly update and improve this knowledge, and a special quality is their getting to know each other and facilitating their daily tasks and duties.
The conclusion is that this conference showed that the meeting of freight forwarders and logisticians is a necessity and that the preparation of the next conference with a specific topic and the most current problems in these areas should be started now.
In particular, the importance and quality of the staff trained at BLC was pointed out, and today they carry out logistics and shipping in the region to a good extent. It was emphasized that in the future this course should only be improved and the level of acquired knowledge among students should be improved, because only this approach guarantees the success and results of these economic branches, which, as was said, also have a perspective.
