ERASMUS+

Erasmus+ is a program that aims to support activities in the field of education, training, youth and sports for the period 2014 - 2020. Erasmus+ is the result of the merger of seven programs:

  • Lifelong learning program (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Comenius, Grundtvig);
  • Youth at work program;
  • Five programs intended for international cooperation (Erasmus Mundus Program, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink, cooperation programs with industrialized countries in the field of higher education);
  • New action about sports.
  • Erasmus+ provides funding for various types of activities in the fields of education, training, youth and sports. The program provides opportunities for students, practitioners, staff, and volunteers to stay abroad for a certain period with the aim of improving skills and employability.

The program supports organizations working in transnational partnerships and sharing innovative practices in the field of education, training and youth. Banja Luka College is also one of the participants in the Erasmus + program, and has implemented an international exchange of teachers and students.

Within the Erasmus + project

BLC participated as one of the partner schools of the Western Balkans in the Balkan Voices project, in which two students and six volunteers participated. https://cfi.fr/en/project/balkans-voices

KA107 – Higher education student and staff mobility between Program and Partner Countries

The College of Information Technologies (VSITE) plans to cooperate with Banja Luka College (BLC) in the partner country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Cooperation is planned in the area of student and staff mobility due to the compatibility of study programs in the area of information technologies, especially in the direction of databases and information systems and computer networks. The mobility of two students from a partner country is planned

(BLC) to the program country (VSITE) and the mobility of a total of two teachers, namely one teacher for training purposes (from VSITE to BLC) and one teacher for teaching purposes (from BLC to VSITE).

Within VSITE's internationalization strategy, emphasis is placed on regional connectivity, and the expansion of cooperation to countries outside the European Union is particularly emphasized. The planned mobility of one teacher from the program to the partner country to the BLC institution will contribute to the achievement of several goals within the six main directions of the development of international cooperation. Within the direction of academic mobility, the number of outgoing mobility of teaching staff will increase. Since it is important for VSITE to develop cooperation with foreign universities in the field of exchange of experience, the planned staff mobility in the form of "job-shadowing" will contribute to the achievement of this goal.

One of the goals of Banja Luka College's internationalization strategy is to achieve mobility with EU countries in the region. In order to enable its students to meet diverse and modern IT technologies and provide them with an insight into European higher education, the mobility of two students from a partner country to the program country at VSITE is planned. The mobility of students from the program to the partner country was not planned because the implementation of the K103 project at the University of Information Technology (VSITE) showed that VSITE students were reluctant to go on mobility, and within the framework of this project it was decided to provide students with the opportunity to go on mobility from a partner country from a BLC institution.

Both institutions emphasize the exchange of experiences and the transfer of knowledge in their internationalization strategies. Therefore, one incoming mobility of teachers is planned for the purpose of teaching. In cooperation with the host institution (VSITE), the incoming teacher will organize workshops for students and teachers that are part of BLC's "Oracle Academy Training Cycle".

PREVIOUS PROJECTS

During 2017/2018, BLC was in the process of implementing the Erasmus + program with the VSITE University of Zagreb. Our student Marko Bajić stayed in Zagreb, having finished the winter semester in Croatia.

During his five-month stay, Marko Bajić attended all types of classes at VSITE High School, as well as taking exams. During the entire stay, the student received a monthly scholarship in the amount of €800, so five monthly scholarships in the total amount of €4,000 and a one-time amount of €180 for travel expenses.

You can read about his experience and the importance of this stay within the Erasmus + program for him at the following link: https://www.blc.edu.ba/marko-bajic-student-blc-a-na-razmjeni -erasmus-experience/

Also, our professor, Dr. Miloš Ljubojević, was on exchange in Zagreb.
