By producing flax to sustainability
PROJECT - THROUGH THE PRODUCTION OF FLAX TO SUSTAINABLE JOBS IN AGRICULTURE
28 self-employed people within the project "Flax production to sustainable jobs in agriculture" were presented today in Ribnik in the presence of members of the Project Team, Ribnik Municipality officials, users from the Ribnik Municipality area who participated in the "Map for Employment in Agriculture" and representatives of the media project results. The project enabled all of them to participate in the training program for the production of flax, buckwheat, rye, spelled and millet, as well as the allocation of funds in the amount of 4,050.00 KM as an incentive to establish their own production on 1 hectare of land, with a guaranteed purchase, which have become self-employed.
Local partnership Petrovac is one of 15 local partnerships established in the country as part of the project Support to local partnerships for employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is financed by the European Union (EU) with 4 million euros and implemented by the International Labor Organization (ILO), which aims has the retraining of almost 2,000, and the employment of at least 620 unemployed persons.
The beneficiaries of the Partnership's activities, which the EU finances with 180,000 euros, are unemployed people, including women, young people, returnees, long-term unemployed, unemployed without qualifications and farmers whose properties were damaged in the floods in 2014, from the municipalities/municipalities of Petrovac, Bosanski Petrovac, Drvar. , East Drvar, Ključ and Ribnik. All beneficiaries were selected through a public call.
28 beneficiaries of the Partnership's activities who started their own production of alternative grains and re-registered their farms from non-commercial to commercial, and registered trades, are included in the production value chain and are expected to produce about 25 tons of grain per year for the needs of the processing industry. In addition to the Municipality of Petrovac, which is the leader of the Partnership's activities, the Partnership's members are the municipalities/municipalities of Bosanski Petrovac, Drvar, Istočni Drvar, Ključ and Ribnik, as well as the Faculty of Agriculture and Food in Sarajevo, Banja Luka College, the Employment Agency of the Republic of Srpska, the Employment Agency of the Unsko- of Sana Canton, Agricultural Cooperative Klekovača, Žitoprodukt 2012 doo and Association GEA.
The project Support to local partnerships for employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina is part of the EU Program for local development and employment, which the EU finances with 19 million euros in order to reduce unemployment and improve living standards in BiH.
