Description of the course
Today, there is almost no activity that does not rely on the application of information technologies. That's why IT engineers who complete IT engineering don't wait for a job. This course of study educates future IT experts and engineers who determine the needs of their organization for the application of information technologies, work on the selection of necessary IT products, perform system design, integrate different IT products into a single system and work on managing their use and maintenance. Computer engineers define and maintain computer servers and networks, and are responsible for their secure operation and protection.
The aim of the study course Information Technology Engineering is to enable students to successfully engage in professional development of information technologies, structured, object-oriented, functional and logical programming, algorithms, operating systems, databases and information systems.
In the Information Technology Engineering major, students will master skills and knowledge related to the analysis, planning, maintenance, management of information technologies used in modern business environments, analysis of technical characteristics, installation and maintenance of computer hardware, installation, use and maintenance of mobile networks and communications, design and administration of computer networks, advanced use of databases, programming skills in programming languages such as: C++, C#, Java, planning, development and maintenance of information systems, development and maintenance of web applications and services through scripting and stylistic languages such as: HTML, XHTML, PHP, JS, CSS, development and maintenance of systems for dynamic content management, understanding the achievements of artificial intelligence and using expert systems, understanding and applying security measures to protect computer systems.
The Information Technology Engineering course trains information technology engineers to independently perform all tasks related to the design and maintenance of computer systems, computer networks, databases, information systems, work in computer graphics, web design, project management, software engineering, operational research, creation multimedia applications and the use of intelligent systems.
After completing the four-year study, the student acquires the title of Graduated Engineer of Informatics - 240 ECTS credits.
Upon completion of the basic academic studies in Information Technology Engineering, students have the opportunity to continue their studies at graduate academic studies of the second degree - master's studies anywhere in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.
